Subject: Word Pro Documents in Productivity Tools
Feedback Type: Problem
Product Area: Productivity Tools
Technical Area: Functionality
Platform: Windows XP client
Release: Beta 2
Reproducible: Always

We use Lotus Word Pro heavily in our company. So this problem is quite a problem in our opinion, as we deal with many companies that still use SmartSuite as its primary office tool.

We found that Productivity Tools is not handling smart fields like those found in the Word Pro templates correctly. Fields that say "Click here to add recipient name" etc, which in Word Pro, do not get printed, if left blank, are printed verbatim.

Another problem that is quite an issue is that the Productivity tools do not handle the text boxes or margins correctly, disrupting formatting quite severly.

All of these issues can be reproduced very easily, if you open a document created with either "fax2.mwp" or "memo2.mwp" or try to create one from those templates. These are the default templates that came with Word Pro.

It also would be quite handy if more of the template functions from Word Pro were available, such as the filling in of your name.
